Jalometalli 2014

Katkaisin tänä vuonna kymmenen vuoden Tuska-kierteen kiireiden ja rahatilanteen vuoksi sekä suunnistin ainoastaan yksille festareille työrupeaman päätyttyä. Ja kyseessähän oli sitten Oulussa järjestettävä Jalometalli. Olen jostain syystä vältellyt kyseistä musiikkitapahtumaa viimoseen saakka, mutta tänä vuonna ystävien houkuttelemana päätin antaa festareille mahdollisuuden.

I ended my ten year long Tuska festival tradition this year because of money and being busy at work. I only went to one festival after the summer job ended. And I ended going to Jalometalli festival at Oulu for the first time. For some reason I have avoided going there but this year I decided to make some changes and give the festival a chance.

Minulla oli festareilta kolme missiota; Rotten Sound, Kuolemanlaakso sekä Kvelertak. Rotten Sound soitti heti Jalometallin aloittajaisiksi lauantaina puoli neljä. Soittoaika ei mikään ehkä paras mahdollinen, mutta hiton tiukka aloitus hyvälle viikonlopulle. 

I had three missions during the festival: Rotten Sound, Kuolemanlaakso and Kvelertak. Rotten Sound played as the very first band on Friday at half past three. The gig time wasn't the best possible but they managed to play an awesome starter show for the weekend.

Festaripällistelyt. Olin vähän yllättynyt tupakkanurkkauksesta, joka oli asetettu anniskelualueen nurkkaukseen ja toimi festarialueen ainoana paikkana jossa sai tupakoida. Tätä kai se nykyään sitten on.

Festival faces. I was a bit surprised about the smoking corner that was arranged on to the area where they served alcohol. It was the only place you could smoke from the whole festival area. I guess this is how it works now days.

Kuolemanlaakso soitti perjantai-illan viimeisenä bändinä ja kävin kuuntelemassa keikan eturivistä. Olen viimeksi ollut eturivissä katsomassa mitään keikkaa vuonna 2006 Tuskassa, kun jonotimme ystäväni kanssa Northeria ja pällistelimme samalla Pain Confessorin keikan.

Kuolemanlaakso played on friday night as the last band and I was listening it from the front row. I have been in the front row last time 2006 at Tuska festival when me and my friend waited for Norther and saw Pain Confessor's gig at the same.

Lauantain bändeistä suurin mielenkiinnon kohteeni oli Kvelertak, jota seurailin osaksi vähän aikaa sivusta ja sen jälkeen anniskelualueelta. En jotenkin saanut toivomiani kiksejä irti keikasta. Testamentin pari viimeistä keikkaa Tuskasta olivat niin tuoreessa muistissa, etten viitsinyt vaivautua keikkaa katsomaan sen kummoisemmin. Triptykonia kuuntelimme teltan suojista suojaisemmasta paikasta, sillä vettä alkoi tulla lauantai-illan aikana kuin aisaa ja yritimme parhaamme mukaan pysyä edes hieman kuivina.

The biggest interest on Saturday from my point of view was Kvelertak. I checked part of the gig from the side and after that from the alcohol serving area. I didn't really enjoy the gig as much as I would have hoped for. Testament's last few gigs from Tuska festival I remember so well that I didn't bother to check the gig at all. The gig from Triptykon we saw from under the tent a bit far away from the stage because it started to rain quite heavily during the night and we tried to stay even a bit dry.

Kaiken kaikkiaan oikein loisto viikonloppu jäi taakse. Paljon tuttuja naamoja tuli vastaan, sekä Rovaniemeläisiä että Oululaisia. Jalometallin ensikävijänä tykkäsin kyllä festivaaleista, alue oli hyvin suunniteltu sekä kaikki järjestelyt kunnossa. Joku puheli, että ensimmäisen päivän ruokatarjoilut olivat laihahkonlaiset, mutta en syönyt alueella kuin lauantaina kerran, joten siitä ei sen kummoisempia valiteltavia. Paitakojulta olisin toivonut enemmän tarjontaa ja oli jännä nähdä, että suurimman osan bändien t-paidat maksoivat totuttua enemmän, noin 20 - 25€ ylöspäin. Päädyin shoppailemaan kuitenkin Rotten Soundin vetoketjuhupparin, joka oli 40€ hinnalla kohtuullisen edullinen.

Overall quite an exellent weekend was left behind. I saw a lot of familiar faces and people from Rovaniemi and Oulu. Being first time at Jalometalli, I really liked the festival. The area was well arranged ad everything worked well. Someone said that during first day there was only one place to get food and it wasn't enough. I only ate once at the area and it was on Saturday so I have no comments about the food arrangements. The band shirt selling place could have had more options and the prices where quite high being from 20 - 25 € and over. Ended up buying a Rotten Sound hoodie with a zipper anyway that costed 40€ which isn't that much from a hoodie.

Summer 2014

Kevään loppu ja kesätiivistys-postaus. En saanut ihan aikajärjestykseen kaikkea, mutta muutama kaunis kuva ja jaettu hetki kesältä luvassa lyhkäisesti kommentoituna.

End of the spring and summer post. I didn't manage to get everything in to the order they happened, but few pretty pics and shared moments from the summer mixed together with short notes.

Evenings and nights driving and sitting in a car, cycle trips at Oulu and eating at restaurants.

Grillikauden avajaiset ystävien seurassa. Grillattiin surkealla pikkugrillillä kolme tuntia ja nälissään syötiin ähky kymmeneen minuuttiin, perus toimintaa.

Grill food season opening with friends. We grilled and made food for three hours and as we were already starving we ate everything in ten minutes until we were completely full and round, basic action.

Dear friends, parties and gigs.

Muutin myös uuteen asuntoon kesäkuun alusta. Asunto on parvekkeella ja saunalla varustettu unelma, parempaa löytöä en olisi voinut kuvitellakaan kohdalleni. Kaikki on uudehkoa ja rakennan nyt uutta kotipesää pikku hiljaa eteenpäin. Vanha asunto johon muutin marraskuussa paljastui keväällä totaaliseksi murheenkryyniksi ja tovi meni ennen kuin löysin sellaisen asunnon, jossa pystyy nukkumaan yönsä rauhassa.

I moved in to a new apartment at the beginning of June. Apartment is just a dream, with it's balcony and sauna. I could not have found any better. Everything is quite new and I am building now a new home for myself little by little. The old apartment where I moved last November discovered to be just a huge mess and dissapointment during the spring. It took a while for me to find a new one. One you can sleep your nights in peace without worrying.

Kesäkuussa täytin 24 vuotta ja minulle oli paria päivää ennen oikeita synttäreitä järjestetty yllätyssynttärit paikalliseen pystybaariin. Yllätys sai minut ilonkyyneliin ja sain ystävien keräämään yhteislahjan, jonka avulla voin jatkaa valokuvausharrastusta keväällä rikkoutuneesta järjestelmäkamerasta huolimatta.

At June I turned 24 years and few days before my actual birthday I had a surprice birthday party arranged for me. The surprice made me cry of happiness. I also got a present that my friends had collected together so that I could continue photographing even though my camera broke down at the spring

Työskentelin myös kesäteatterin kioskitätinä ja pitkät päivät (normitöiden lisäksi) pitivät minut kiireisenä sekä väsyneenä.

I also worked as a sales lady for the summer theatre and the long days (including my normal work days) kept me really busy and tired.

Aurinkoa ja hyviä hetkiä. Oli kesän kuvia katsellessa ilo nähdä, että melkein joka kuvassa naurattaa tai hymyilyttää aika leviästi. Kertoo siitä, että kesä oli erilainen kuin kesät ennen tätä.

Sun and good moments. It was nice to check all the pics from the summer and notice that in most of them, I am smiling or laughing. It tells that this summer was something different than the ones before.

Ihanaa, viileää ja pimeää syksyä odotellessa. Lempivuodenaikani kaikista.

Kolme tatuointia ja scarification

Kuten edellisestä parista (ja vuoden ainoista) postauksista joku tarkkasilmäinen on huomannutkin, muutama uusi tatuointi ja hieman naamakoristusta on tullut hankittua kuluneen kevään aikana. Lupailin postausta niistä, joten pieni kuvaspämmänderi nyt sitten luvassa. Osa raakaa rakeista puhelinlaatua ja osa vähän parempaa.

If you have been watching carefully the few last posts (only ones done this year) you might notice that I have taken few new tattoos and some face scarification thingy during the spring. I promised a post about them so a small picture spam incoming! Few pics are straight from my phone and blurry and some are a bit better.

Tammikuun lopulla laitatutin rintakuvan starttereiksi yrityslogon keskelle rintakehää. Paikkana kohtuu v-mäisen tuntoinen, mutta lopputulos sitäkin komeampi. Siitä pitäisi sitten jossain vaiheessa jatkaa, saa nähdä mihin suuntaan ja miten. Kuten ensimmäisestä yläkuvasta voi nähdä, jännitti aika kohtuudella ennen aloittamista. Oma rintakehä kun tuosta tatuoinnin kohdalta on lähinnä luuta ja nahkaa.

At the end of January I had my chest piece started with my business logo. The place was quite painful but the picture great. At some point I want to continue it but haven't quite figured out how and when. As you can see from the first photo I was quite nervous before we started tattooing. My chest is the mostly skin and bones from that part.

Samoiten toteutin myös sormitatuointihaaveeni. "2306"-yhdistelmä (joka on siis syntymäpäiväni) on pyörinyt itsellä mielessä johonkin tatuointiin ämpättynä jo pidempään ja päädyin sitten näinkin näkyvään paikkaan "mort"- sanan kera. Mietin aluksi, että olisin jättänyt sormet tatuoimatta, mutta miettiessäni asiaa jonkun tovin, tulin siihen lopputulokseen että mitä niitä nyt turhia säästelemään. Toinenkin käsi on suunniteltu alustavasti sormenpäihin saakka joten mitä sitä vasempaakaan säästelemään.

Also I had my fingers tattooed as I have been wishing for some time. "2306" compination (which is my birthday) has been an idea in the back of my head for a while and then I decided to get it on to my fingers with the word "mort". First I thought that I would have left my fingers without any ink but after thinking it over for some time I decided not to save the spot. The right arm is being planned on to the tip of my fingers so the left one doesn't matter to be saved either.

Erika piirteli upian ruttotohtorin ja varasin sen ensinäkemältä itselleni. Toinen reisikuva (jota en vissiin täällä olekaan aiemmin esitellyt) sai melkein symmetrisen muotoisen kaverin tästä fiinistä herrasta.

Erika drew an amazing plague doctor picture and I asked if she could save it for me. The other thigh picture (which I have not shown in here before) got almost a symmetrical friend from this fine gentleman.

Fantastista, taas on syytä aiheuttaa pahennusta suht  koht lyhyissä shortseissa.

Fantastic, yet again there is a reason to cause a scandal by wearing really short shorts.

Oulussa kävin R&W inkin Jonilla kaunistamassa kulmaani. Silmäkulma oli kohtuu arpinen jo aloitellessa, sillä minulla on molemmilla puolilla kulmissani ollut neljä kertaa kulmalävistykset. Tehtiin oikealle puolelle scarificationit jotka onnekseni paranivat oikein somiksi. 

At Oulu I went to R&W Ink for Joni to make my eyebrow look a bit better. There were some old scars from my previous eyebrow piercings (I have had eyebrow piercings four times on both sides). Joni made scarifications that healed really nicely.

Että sellaisia uusia tuulia. Keskimmäinen huulilävistys teki myös comebackin ja otin toukokuussa meillä vierailleella espanjalaisella tatuoijalla Errorilla dinosaurus-lohikäärme tatuoinnin ääriviivat toiseen jalkaan. Väritellään sitten seuraavalla kerralla kun herra vierailee Suomessa.

So that was some of the new stuff that I've got for myself. Middle labret did a comeback also and I had a new tattoo from a spanish tattooer Error who visited our shop at May. It is a dragon-dinosaur thingy and it has only the outlines now. It's gonna be finished and coloured when he comes to visit Finland again.

Spring vomit

Aika vaan rullailee, uusia kuvia tarttuu kameran kautta koneelle ja kevät on täällä. Uaaah, pysy ite enää edes oman elämänsä perässä, niin paljon asioita tapahtuu. Tämän postauksen jälkeen on tulossa jossain vaiheessa postausta uusista tatuoinneista ja modeista mitä on tullut hankittua, mutta tehdään nyt ensinnä tällainen kuvaoksennus-postaus alta poies.

Time flies, new pictures are taken and buried in to the laptop and the spring is here. I can't even follow my life now. So much things happening. After this post there is coming a post about my new tattoos and modifications that I have taken. But first, let get this picture vomiting post done.

Pari viikkoa sitten juhlittiin hauskassa seurassa tupareita Oulun maalla. Itsehän olen viettänyt Huikatonta Huhtikuuta, joten alkoholittomilla mentiin eikä baariinkaan jaksanut itseään vaivata illan päälle. Mutta oli mukava tavata uusia ihmisiä vanhojen tuttujen lisäksi.

Few weeks ago we had housewarming party with good company at Oulu. I have stayed fully sober the whole April, so I just drank non alcohol drinks the whole evening and didn't have the strenght to go any bars after the party was over. But it was nice to meet new people and also see old faces.

Maalis- ja huhtikuu ovat olleet täynnä hyvää ruokaa ja seuraa.

April and March have been filled with good food and company.

Drinking hot chocolate on a skiing center in the middle of nowhere.

Stam1nalla oli keikka Rovaniemellä ja sekin käytiin maaliskuun puolessa välissä katsastamassa. Muistikuvat hieman hatarat.

Stam1na had a gig at Rovaniemi and we checked it out in the middle of March. Memories of the evening are a bit lost.

Kauppuri 5 ja Cheese and onion burger. 

Ostin rässiliivin Seppälästä (farkku on vissiin in tänä keväänä) ja nyt ootellaan kesää.

I bought myself a denim west from Seppälä (denim is in this spring i guess) and now I am waiting for the spring to really start.

Kuvat on sentään nättejä tällä kertaa, ei mittään puhelinlaatusia räpellyksiä. Onko miun seuraajat vielä hengissä ja mukana vaikka olenkin viime kuukausina postaillut näin vähän ja ymmyrkäisiä?
